Attended vs Self Serve Photo Booths: Why Having an Attendant Makes All the Difference
If you have been looking into photo booths for your event, you have probably noticed there are two main options. Some booths are completely self serve. Others come with dedicated attendants who manages everything from start to finish.
The difference in experience is bigger than you might think.
Attended Photo Booths: Seamless, Stylish, and Stress Free
With an attended booth, trained team members stays on site to handle everything from setup to guest interaction to keeping things running smoothly. It is the kind of hands on experience we offer at every On Que event.
Why it’s worth it:
Guests feel instantly comfortable and taken care of
No one has to figure out confusing software or wonder what to do next
We keep props tidy, lighting dialed in, and the experience flowing
Photos look better because we care about the details and can make adjustments as needed
Custom templates and branded start screens are included, so no two events are ever the same
The entire setup feels more intentional and guest ready
If you want your booth to feel polished, elevated, and fully managed, this is the way to go.
Self Serve Photo Booths: Budget Friendly but Hands Off
Self serve booths are often lower in cost, but they come with tradeoffs. These booths are fully automated and run without anyone on site to help.
Things to consider:
Guests are left to figure out the experience on their own
Photo quality may suffer without proper lighting, camera adjustments, or attention to detail
No custom templates or branded design options
Props can get messy and disorganized
If something breaks, there is no one there to fix it
There are a few reasons we do not offer self serve booths. Every booth we provide includes an experienced attendant(s) and a fully curated setup to ensure everything looks and feels just right.
What’s Right for You?
If your event is casual and budget is the main priority, a self serve booth might be enough.
But if you want a photo booth experience that feels effortless, well run, and completely guest ready, an attended booth is the clear choice.
At On Que Photo Booth, our attended experiences start at $650 for two hours and include custom-designed templates, studio-grade lighting, a professional DSLR camera, and an experienced team on site to manage every detail from start to finish.
